Report: What Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali both agreed on when hiring Enzo Maresca as new Chelsea manager

Reports have shared what both the owners at Chelsea agreed on when hiring their new manager ahead of next season.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali were part of the group who took over at Stamford Bridge just over two years ago, however it has been claimed recently they are not seeing eye to eye on everything.

Their presence at games, particularly in the American’s case, has dropped massively this season, with him hardly being seen at the stadium for matches.

However, both have been called into action in the first week of the off-season when it was announced they had decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino despite his sixth placed finish in the Premier League.

While last year’s managerial hunt was extensive, this time around it has taken only a few days until they have decided on their next man for the job.

Enzo Maresca has reportedly been the candidate they have chosen to bring in, and this is a decision that both owners have reportedly agreed on.

Boehly and Eghbali impressed by Maresca

According to The Telegraph even, both Boehly and Eghbali believe that the Leicester City boss was the outstanding candidate for the job based on those who were available to replace Pochettino.

With him yet to manage a single game in the Premier League, there are no doubt people doubting he has the capability to take on the task that awaits him at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca not bothered about transfers

However, some of his comments regarding the transfer policy at his soon-to-be former club, where he stated that he did not want too much say over what signings were made, does suggest that it plays a part in their thinking when hiring him.

It remains to be seen which new players he is giving to bolster his prospects in his first and hopefully not last season in West London.
