3 cheap strikers to replace Martial at Man Utd include £15m star more prolific than Mbappe this year

Anthony Martial has officially departed Manchester United, which means the Red Devils are now in the market for a striker.

Which they probably should’ve obtained a year prior. Manchester United made the huge mistake of just signing Rasmus Hojlund last summer, who thanks to Martial’s persistent injuries, was the only fit forward at the club in his first season in red.

Erik ten Hag, and more so Sir Jim Ratcliffe won’t let history repeat itself, meaning a forward will surely be acquired this summer, as also reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The issue? The cost. Manchester United do not want to break the bank for a forward player, as they still have other positions to vacate, and spent a bucketload to secure Hojlund in the last window.

So, with this, here are three cheap strikers to replace Anthony Martial at Manchester United.

Jonathan David – £30m

Jonathan David is definitely a name that will be floated around the United camp this summer. It was reported that the Red Devils were set to reignite interest, which was then followed up by sending scouts to watch the Canadian last month.

It’s reported he’ll cost around £30m, which is a bargain for a prolific, young striker in this day and age. David is incredibly both-footed and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

He’s a bit of a gem, a striker potentially with years left at the top level, but one who is also very affordable. A serious option.

Vangelis Pavlidis – £12m to £15m

Ten Hag has a knack so far at Manchester United for raiding the Eredivisie, so why not go and grab the most prolific forward in the league?

Vangelis Pavlidis has a ridiculous 29 goals in 34 matches in the Dutch top flight this campaign and is now on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

It’s said that AZ Alkmaar is willing to sell for a reasonable £12-15 million. This price tag makes him a potential bargain for a versatile 25-year-old attacker.

Serhou Guirassy – £15m

This would be our pick and could be the signing of the summer – it’s Serhou Guirassy. The 28-year-old is arguably the biggest bargain available in Europe this summer, with a release clause of just £15m.

He’s scored a ludicrous 30 goals in 30 matches for Stuttgart, making him the second-most-prolific striker in Europe, just behind Harry Kane, and ahead of Kylian Mbappe. Not bad.

The Guinea international will be wanted by many in the summer, but only one will sign him. Let that be Manchester United.
