N.J. man sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting child over 10-year span

A judge has sentenced a Cumberland County man to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child multiple times over a decade.

Juan Hernandez-Antonio, 39, of Bridgeton, was charged in April 2022 with several counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

He pleaded guilty in February to a first-degree charge of aggravated sexual assault in the case.

In accordance with the plea agreement, Superior Court Judge William Ziegler sentenced Hernandez-Antonio on Friday to 10 years, with a requirement that he serve 85% of that time before he’s eligible for parole.

When released, he must register as a sex offender and is subject to parole supervision for life.
