The supplement that could become a holy grail for migraines and preventing them

A new study in the Practical Neurology journal has highlighted a particular supplement for its unique ability to treat and prevent migraines.

While they might be almost impossible to ignore, dealing with migraines is almost as difficult with hacks suggesting using everything from lavender essential oil to drinking caffeine.

Could a simple supplement solve your migraine issue?

Throughout their review of Nutraceuticals for Migraine Management, Doctors L. Denysenko and D. Kuruvilla looked at four supplements that are widely available for migraine prevention. Said supplements included Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), Vitamin D, Curcumin, and Petadolex. Of the four, only Petadolex exhibited “a predictable dose-response relationship” when treating those pesky migraines.

Petadolex is a natural supplement derived from butterbur, sometimes referred to as Coltsfoots, though it goes through an extraction process to remove potentially harmful toxins from the liquid. The result is Petadolex, but specifically, the 15% petasins and isopetasins that are clinically shown to affect migraines.

“Our review highlights the potential of butterbur liquid extract, particularly Petadolex, in migraine management,” said Dr Lex Denysenko. “The evidence suggests butterbur may offer a valuable therapy for reducing migraine frequency and improving patient outcomes.”

Unlike other supplements that attack an issue from a singular front, Petadolex challenges migraines through a number of effective methods.

For instance, Petadolex is shown to prevent the release of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a brain chemical that plays a key role in causing migraines. It also works on calcium channel pathways to desensitize sensory neurons.
