Tampa Jesuit four-star quarterback Will Griffin, class of 2026, has committed to the Florida Gators.

Griffin is the nation’s No. 104 overall prospect, No. 8 quarterback and No. 20 recruit from Florida in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 6-foot-2.5, 225-pound Griffin visited Gainesville in March and told Gators Online that he had the chance to grow closer with the coaching staff at UF.

“It was excellent,” Griffin said. “I was glad to see that kind of environment where everybody was moving around really fast. I thought the practice was full of intensity and coach Napier runs an NFL-style practice. They only have like 20 hours in a week to do anything with the players, so he makes sure everything they do is with 100 percent effort and you’re moving around doing something.

“We hopped from meetings to the team room, back to meetings, and then back to the team room. Everything was quick and on point. I couldn’t watch Pro Day, but there was definitely still a lot of electricity in the facility even after that because some guys performed really well.”

Griffin had the chance to watch Gators quarterbacks Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway as well as meet with head coach Billy Napier and assistant coach Ryan O’Hara.

“We talked for like two hours: Napier, O’Hara, all 5-6 quarterbacks and myself. We were in there talking ball, going over plays, installs and stuff like that,” said Griffin.

“Between reps on the field, Graham, DJ and I would talk about the defense we just saw on the field and certain routes and coverages so I can learn some of the offense from what they are seeing. DJ is doing a great job. He’s only been there since mid-year and I think he’s getting it (down) pretty well.”
