Report: West Ham send ‘official offer' to bring 31-year-old 'unpredictable genius' back to the PL

West Ham United have issued an ultimatum to Galatasaray, after making an official approach for Wilfried Zaha.

Galatasaray star Wilfried Zaha has emerged as a transfer target for West Ham United, as Julen Lopetegui looks to bolster his attacking options.

David Moyes apparently rejected the chance to sign the 31-year-old last year, because he thought he wouldn’t improve his squad.

Make of that what you will!

However, it seems as though Lopetegui thinks very differently to Moyes fortunately.

The Spaniard needs to get bodies through the door, and fast. He’s reportedly keen to get the majority of his transfer business done before the start of the Hammers’ pre-season games.

He is targeting a bare minimum of six new signings (Evening Standard), and one of them may well be Zaha…

West Ham make official Wilfried Zaha move

Turkish publication Fotospor claim that West Ham have sent an official enquiry for Wilfried Zaha, and have given Galatasaray just three days to send over their demands.

The Turkish giants are apparently asking for around £10.2 million for the supremely talented winger.

The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium already this summer.

The Evening Standard have described Zaha as an ‘unpredictable genius’, and they’re not wrong.

The 31-year-old winger is unplayable on his day, and despite his time spent away from the Premier League, he surely still has a lot to offer at the very highest level.

The 31-year-old joined Galatasaray as a free agent from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2023, and he has bagged an impressive 10 goals and five assists in 42 games so far for the Turkish giants. During his time with Palace, Zaha racked up 90 goals and 76 assists in 458 games (Transfermarkt).

He is a proven Premier League star and has a reputation of being one of the very best dribblers in the world.

The 31-capped Ivory Coast international is the sort of player who you love if he plays for your club, but hate him if he’s lining up against you! That really is nothing more than a massive compliment to him.

Wilfried Zaha is one of the very best wingers in the game with the ball at his feet, and he’d add guaranteed output to West Ham United’s front-line when it comes to goals and assists.

Ih he is really available for just over £10 million, the Hammers shouldn’t think twice about signing him this summer.
