Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has made a stunning claim about a West Ham medical for Luis Guilherme in a major update.
Fabrizio Romano could be forgiven for shying away from West Ham transfer news for a while.
The reporter has spent years cultivating his reputation around being among the first to break transfer news.
Romano gives deals he believes are done his trademark ‘here we go’ stamp.
But he had his fingers burned earlier this week when a deal for Brazilian centre-back Fabricio Bruno collapsed after Romano had given it his ‘here we go’ seal.
Steidten’s Samba struggles
West Ham technical director Tim Steidten has since turned to other targets while in Brazil, one of whom is teenage midfield sensation Luis Guilherme.
The 18-year-old has reportedly been the subject of two West Ham bids which have been rejected by Palmeiras.
Yesterday Romano issued a cautious update saying talks were still advancing between West Ham and Palmeiras for Guilherme, who has been compared to Mohammed Kudus.

Well now there’s been a major development.

Romano has made a stunning new claim about Guilherme having a West Ham medical.
The Italian says all documents are now being prepared for the Hammers to complete the Guilherme deal.
And he says the move is expected to be sealed early next week followed by a medical for the exciting wing wizard in London.
“Understand West Ham are now preparing all documents for Luis Guilherme deal! €30m (£25m) plus 20% sell-on clause proposal exclusively revealed, being now reviewed with Palmeiras,” Romano said.
“West Ham hope for (the) deal to be sealed early next week with 2006 born winger to travel for medical.”

What a thrilling update for Hammers fans.
But the news won’t just come as a relief for West Ham supporters, Romano – after he went early on the Bruno deal – and new head coach Julen Lopetegui.
The most relieved man will undoubtedly be Steidten.
That’s if a claim made earlier today is to be believed.
A journalist revealed what would happen if Steidten cannot seal the deal for Guilherme following the collapse of the Bruno and Wesley Gassova moves.
There have been concerns among some fans that West Ham are taking a big risk bringing a an 18-year-old straight to the Premier League from Brazilian football.
