Journalist: Alejandro Garnacho decision has been made, it will delight Manchester United fans

A decision on Alejandro Garnacho has been made which will absolutely delight Manchester United fans.

Amid a lacklustre showing from many of Manchester United’s first-team squad in the 23/24 campaign, Alejandro Garnacho was a shining light for the Red Devils.

The dazzling Argentine was one of United’s most exciting players and cemented his rightful place in the starting XI under Erik ten Hag.

This is why, Manchester United want to protect his talents at all costs. A decision that has just been made is a step into doing just that.

Alejandro Garnacho is not going to the Olympics

According to Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul, Garnacho will not be heading to the Olympics with his national side this summer.

The 19-year-old is set to travel to the Copa America with La Albiceleste but was also wanted by his country to play in the upcoming Olympic games.

The decision now is that he will not be attending, which is good news for Manchester United, and Garnacho himself.

Why Alejandro Garnacho not going to the Olympics is a good thing

If Garnacho was to head to the Olympics, it would mean that the already overworked academy graduate would be getting absolutely no rest over the summer whatsoever.

The Olympics runs between the 24th of July 2024 and the 10th of August. And, given their team, Argentina would be one of the teams fancied to go the distance.

This would mean Garnacho would miss the entire Manchester United pre-season, and more importantly, the Community Shield, which takes place on the 10th of August 2024.

A busy summer lies ahead already with the Copa America, so had Garnacho travelled to be an Olympian, he would simply be knackered in the buildup to the 24/25 campaign.

With the teenager emerging as one of Manchester United’s integral starlets, it is music to fans’ ears that Garnacho will not head to Paris.
