China has announced controls on the export of certain aviation equipment and technologies, reports Reuters.
China will control the export of certain aviation and space components from July 1. Making this statement, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce cited the need to protect the country's national security and interests.
How it will work
Those wishing to export items, including aerospace structural components, as well as equipment and software used in the production of engines, among others, will have to apply for an export license, which must be jointly signed by the Chinese Customs Administration and the Central Military Commission.
“In order to safeguard national security and interests, and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, with the approval of the State Council and Central Military Commission, it has been decided to implement export controls on the following items,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said.
The list of restrictions includes, in particular:
- gas turbine engines,
- molds for the manufacture of spacesuit parts,
- equipment and software used for their manufacture,
- advanced polymers used in bulletproof clothing.
In its pursuit of dominance in the advanced technologies of the future, China has invested nearly $50 billion more in chip manufacturing.

The White House believes that China can use electronic chips to produce high-quality weapons.
