No. 1 seed Kentucky will face the winner of Sunday afternoon’s eliminator between No. 2 seed Indiana State/No. 3 seed Illinois Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. EST in the Lexington Regional Final.

With a Kentucky win, it would claim the Lexington Regional in just three games. With a loss, the Lexington Regional Championship would be Monday.

Indiana State and Illinois faced off in the Opening Round on Friday, where the Fighting Illini came out on top with a 4-1 win.

Illinois right-handed pitcher Jack Crowder dominated the Sycamore lineup, allowing just three hits and one earned run in eight dominant innings on the mound. This sent Indiana State to Saturday’s elimination game against Western Michigan, who Kentucky beat 10-8 in the opening round.

The Indiana State offense looked much better against the Broncos on Saturday, as it scored six runs on 11 hits in a 6-4 win over Western Michigan. This set up Sunday’s eliminator between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds.

The Sycamores will throw 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year right-hander Brennyn Cutts in the opening game on Sunday. Cutts started 15 games for the Sycamores in 2024, posting a 6-1 record with a 3.89 ERA in 74 innings pitched. He pitched 5 1/3 innings in the MVC Tournament, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out two batters.

Kentucky is looking to notch its third ever Regional Championship Sunday night (2017, 2023).
