Saudi Arabia does not plan to participate in the peace summit organized by Ukraine, which will be held in mid-June in Switzerland, according to German DPA news agency sources.

The German agency received information that Saudi Arabia did not plan to participate in the peace summit from sources in diplomatic circles in Riyadh.

The reason for that decision is allegedly that Russia will not be present at the peace summit.

There has been no official confirmation of Saudi Arabia's decision.

Peace summit in Switzerland

Ukraine and Switzerland have organized a Global Peace Summit to take place in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock on June 15-16. Leaders of dozens of countries around the world are expected to attend the summit. However, Russia has not been invited to this summit, which is intended to be a founding event, as its presence could block the search for solutions.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, Russia will be invited to the second peace summit if it expresses a genuine desire to end the war within the framework of a peace plan to be developed after the first peace summit.

Because Russia will not be in Switzerland, China and Brazil decided to ignore the peace summit. These countries have already officially announced their decision. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, some countries are helping Russia to disrupt the peace summit in Switzerland.
