'Keep an eye on': Chelsea expecting Thomas Tuchel signing to leave for £38m this summer - journalist

A Thomas Tuchel signing is expected to leave Chelsea this summer, according to a recent report.

Since Todd Boehly’s takeover in 2022, Chelsea have outlaid a fortune on transfers, though, they’ve also raised a lot of funds through player sales.

The West Londoners are expected to trade once again this summer and it’s thought one man will leave for £38m.

Romelu Lukaku expected to leave Chelsea for £38m

According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are expecting Romelu Lukaku’s £38m release clause to be activated this summer transfer window.

Lukaku has spent the last two seasons on loan at Serie A sides Inter and Roma and it now appears Chelsea are eager to sell him permanently, rather than sanctioning another temporary deal.

Chelsea outlaid £97.5m on Lukaku less than three years ago and since that move, he’s made just 44 appearances, netting 15 times.

Though, his stock has risen in the last 12 months as he scored 21 times for Roma but it’s unlikely he’ll be returning there due to his lofty release clause.

Perhaps only a Saudi Arabian side would be willing to shell out just shy of £40m on his signature.

Interest in Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku has interest from the Saudi Pro League and clubs in Turkey ahead of the summer window and Al-Ahli are potential suitors to ‘keep an eye on.

Napoli is another club being mooted as a potential destination following Antonio Conte’s appointment as manager.

Conte worked with Lukaku at Inter, so perhaps they could reunite.
