Report: 'Fantastic' £60m Arsenal target now leaning towards staying at current club this summer

A £60m Arsenal target is now leaning towards staying at his current club this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu will be busy throughout the summer window as they look to bolster the squad ahead of a title charge.

It’s become pretty evident, that Arsenal are perhaps two quality players short from reaching the summit of the Premier League.

One man had been linked with a move to North London which would’ve been a real coup but now it seems he may be staying put.

Michael Olise leaning towards staying

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, who is valued at £60m, in recent weeks and it appeared that they’d put themselves in pole position to land his signature.

However, according to Alan Nixon, the ‘fantastic’ Olise is leaning towards staying at Palace despite a number of top clubs fighting for his signature.

Since Oliver Glasner’s arrival in February, Palace have completely transformed into a side that looks capable of challenging for Europe next season.

So, perhaps Olise is eager to experience a full season under his stewardship before considering a departure.

Arsenal should focus on Pedro Neto

If Olise is to remain at Selhurst Park, Arsenal should quickly turn their attention to Wolves’ jet-heeled winger Pedro Neto.

The West Midlanders are expected to sanction his sale if a £60m offer arrives to keep in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Neto, who turned 24 in March, has endured topsy turvy season with injuries but still managed to register 14 goal contributions in 24 outings.

The Portugal international would be a great fit for Arteta’s system and can provide competition on both flanks.
