Caitlin Clark greets young fans ahead of matchup in New York

Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark never fails to make time for her fans, especially the young kids who look up to her and travel in masses to watch her play. That was on display Sunday evening as the Indiana Fever arrived in New York for a matchup against the Liberty.

As Clark went through her pregame warmups, she took a moment to step off to the side where a number of young fans looked on with excitement. She not only gave them a few high fives, but also posed for a picture with the entire group. You can view the moment below.

The No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark garnered her fan base while breaking records in college at Iowa. Some of the kids in attendance at Sunday’s game were even wearing her Hawkeyes jersey. The impact she has had on growing women’s basketball is unmatched, and she’ll hope to continue doing so in the pros.

Moments like the one in New York of the perfect example of just that.

So far this season through 10 games, Clark is averaging 16.9 points, 6.5 assists and 5.4 rebounds on 37.6% shooting. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated to many wins as Indiana currently sits at 2-8, which puts them 11th our of the 12 teams in the WNBA.

Tip-off between the Fever and Liberty was at 7 p.m. ET.
