Love may have connected 90 Day Fiancé couples across the globe. But, now the honeymoon phase is over and fans get to see if the romances last on Happily Ever After. This June, one cast member drops a bombshell she’s in $100k debt leaving her husband in total shock.
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After couple Manuel and Ashely have been keeping fans of the show entertained since day one. Ashley, who hails from New York, married Manuel, from Ecuador. The two first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 10. For many episodes, Ashley had concerns over Manuel “keeping secrets” but her latest admission flips the script on their whole relationship, say fans.
90 Day Fiancé: $100k debt revelation
As TLC viewers get to see Ashley and Manuel’s marriage play out after they tied the knot two years ago.
The couple has overcome all kinds of hurdles in their relationship including doubts about Manuel from Ashley’s family and his overall “secrecy.”
However, it turns out Ashely had been keeping her cards close to her chest when it came to her finances. She dropped a $100k debt bombshell on Manuel during the June 2 episode of Happily Ever After and fans can’t quite believe it.

Sitting down in a lawyer’s office to discuss their “post-nup,” Ashley tells the camera: “I love Manuel and I have no intention of divorcing him but if he keeps demanding money and leaving out details I feel like I have every right to protect myself.”
Manuel tells the lawyer he is keen on “saving money,” adding how his wife “squanders money.”
The lawyer says it’s a “classic scenario” he often sees between spouses – when one spends more money than another. He explains when a couple gets married they enter into a “joint financial partnership.”
He adds: “You’re entitled to half of his savings and he’s obligated to pay for half of your debts.”
Ashley says: “So, he also inherited my student loan debt?”
When asked how much student loan debt she has, she replies: “About $100k.”
Manuel is baffled
As soon as the words “$100k” leave Ashley’s mouth, Manuel looks baffled and turns to her to ask: “You have a $100k debt? Are you crazy?”
He then turns to the interpreter and asks if he’s “translating correctly.”
Manuel says he’s “feeling crazy” at hearing the amount Ashley owes.
With his head in his hands, he adds: “I don’t know what’s happening.”
To say the 90 Day Fiancé star looks shocked would be an understatement. Fans didn’t waste any time in making memes of the moment via X (Twitter).
More threw Ashley’s career of being a spiritual guide into question with some asking what degree she studied if she ended up going into her mystical line of work.
One tweeted: “I know the job market is rough for millennials but accumulating $100k in student loan debt and becoming an online witch is wild.”
Another savagely wrote: “Ashley has 3 degrees, $100k in student loan debt yet she says she’s a self proclaimed witch, like that’s her occupation. She just wasted $100k on something she could have proclaimed for free…”
