'Right now': Shaka Hislop shares who he thinks will win the Premier League next season - Man City or Arsenal

Shaka Hislop has predicted whether Manchester City or Arsenal will emerge as the Premier League winners next season.

While Manchester City made history by becoming the first team in English history to win four titles in a row, to go one better and win five on the bounce would be on their radar.

After having lost out in two title fights against City by five and two points respectively, Arsenal would be hoping to finally bridge the gap and get over the line next season.

Shaka Hislop predicts who will win the Premier League next season: City or Arsenal

The 2024/2025 campaign poses a series of interesting questions, despite the 2023/2024 season only recently coming to an end.

Shaka Hislop does not foresee a twist in the tale, as he has backed Arsenal to finish runners-up behind Manchester City in the title race next season.

Hislop said via ESPN UK: “Second again.”

When quizzed about whether he will give Arsenal an ‘A’ rating as he did for the 2023/2024 season, Hislop replied: “If they make a fist of it again, if they’re two points behind, yeah. I don’t see why not.”

“Right now, it’s how you see past Manchester City, as it always is at this time of the season.”

The summer window will play a huge part in the title race

In our view, Shaka Hislop is seemingly backing Manchester City to do the business over Arsenal due to their experience and history —aspects that have proven key in where the title has headed in the last two seasons.

But the summer window could play a pivotal role in which team wins the league title.

If Manchester City rest on their laurels and do not address their problem areas, Arsenal’s summer investment could give them the edge in the title race next season and vice versa.

In April, Pep Guardiola was believed to have been given the license to spend £200 million to revamp his squad.

Last summer, Arsenal spent a whopping £208 million, as per Sky Sports to sign the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber — signalling the lofty ambitions at the club.

Both clubs will likely not be complacent during the transfer window and with how brilliant their recruitment is, it will be interesting to see which squad looks superior come the end of their business.
