Exclusive: Tottenham ask about signing two brothers including winger with more take-ons than Kylian Mbappe

Tottenham Hotspur are now in contact with a Ligue 1 side regarding a double-signing that could significantly boost Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Having recently concluded their season in Australia, Daniel Levy and his team will be working diligently behind the scenes right now.

Postecoglou made his ambition clear in the last few weeks of the season, he’s not happy to settle for the status quo.

And given Tottenham are considered to be in a strong financial position right now, they are perhaps perfectly placed to back their manager.

That being said, TBR Football understands that Tottenham have now asked French side Stade Rennais about exciting young talent Desire Doue.

The 19-year-old has interest across Europe right now, with TBR football recently sharing both Arsenal’s and Manchester United’s interest in Doue.

Spurs are now the latest team to make their interest known to Rennes, having watched Doue for much of the season.

Tottenham are also interested in Desire Doue’s brother, 21-year-old Guela Doue

Desire Doue is attracting interest because of his rich attacking credentials, which is perhaps best delineated by the winger having more successful take-ons than Kylian Mbappe in Ligue 1 last season.

But Desire’s brother, Guela Doue, would offer a different skill-set to Tottenham.

Now TBR can reveal that Spurs, who are looking for full-back cover, have also taken a shine to Guela Doue who is predominantly a right-back but can also provide cover centrally or in midfield.

Guela Doue is an Ivory Coast international with two caps for his country, whereas his brother Desire is currently involved in the France under-21 set up.

An audacious double-swoop could definitely improve this Tottenham squad, one that is desperate for better cover at full-back.

Perhaps Destiny Udogie’s injury towards the end of the season best demonstrated the issue, a player who has no natural alternative in the squad.

Micky van de Ven did a stellar job out wide, but that isn’t a permanent solution for Tottenham, even if it did afford Radu Dragusin some well-deserved chances.

It remains to be seen how much the Doue brothers would cost Tottenham in total, but signing Desire in particular could be seen as a real coup given the interest in the teenager.

And Guela Doue, although not quite having the same level of reputation, could really complement Spurs’ squad, able to help Postecoglou in several areas.

All that being said, Tottenham are reportedly now planning to start talks to sign a £60m star this month.
