Arteta told £100m striker target loved by Ian Wright 'ticks all the boxes that Arsenal need'

Arsenal have been told that a £100m striker loved by Ian Wright ‘ticks all the boxes’ the Gunners need to challenge Manchester City next season.

The north London side came painfully close to beating Pep Guardiola’s side to the title this year as Arsenal missed out on top spot by just two points, with Mikel Arteta’s squad winning all but two league games in 2024.

Since the final day of the season, though, there have been strong calls for Arsenal to sign a killer finisher to lead the line, with Micah Richards one such pundit who believes the Gunners need a world-class striker this summer.

And former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has joined in on this bandwagon with a specific pick.

Arsenal urged to move for Victor Osimhen to solve striker problem

Speaking on ESPN FC, the former Trinidad and Tobago star noted that Victor Osimhen is a forward that ‘ticks all the boxes Arsenal need’ when it comes to signing a new striker in the summer transfer window.

The £100m attacker is someone Gunners legend Wright has praised in the past, and these latest comments from Hislop could add more weight to Arsenal’s motive to sign the Napoli superstar.

Indeed, a world-class striker is needed at the Emirates Stadium this summer, and Osimhen could be the perfect candidate if the Serie A side are open to selling the Nigerian striker for a reasonable fee this window.

Hislop said when asked what Arsenal need to do this summer to challenge City for the title: “Without question, the first order of business is signing that style of finisher, and Osimhen ticks all the boxes that Arsenal need.”

Osimhen could be the dream signing for Arsenal this summer

Osimhen has been linked with a move to Arsenal for quite some time, yet with rumours sparking up again in recent weeks, there could be some movement behind the scenes in the Gunners trying to sign the striker.

And given all Osimhen has done in the last few seasons with Napoli, the former LOSC Lille star could be a dream signing for Arteta, who desperately needs a world-class striker to lead the line next season.

Whilst the attacker’s rumoured £100m asking price might be a lot, Declan Rice’s transfer last summer showed that all the money in the world is worth it for a signing if they fit the system, something Osimhen might just be.
