Arsenal's dream transfer window as two strikers sign, seven leave and ideal Declan Rice partner found - opinion

Arsenal are gearing up for another busy summer transfer window that will aim to push the Gunners closer to tasting Premier League glory once again.

Mikel Arteta brought his squad close to achieving that goal last season, taking the title challenge to the last day against Manchester City.

However, Pep Guardiola proved too strong once again, claiming a fourth Premier League title in a row.

Despite the disappointment that finishing second brought, the campaign displayed yet more promise that Arsenal are progressing.

This summer offers the chance to address any issues that may be preventing the Gunners from taking that next step.

So with that said, here’s a look at how a dream transfer window could look for Arsenal, with potential incomings and outgoings at the Emirates Stadium.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal transfer

In an ideal scenario, Arsenal could swoop to land Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as their number-one choice for the centre-forward role this summer.

The Gunners are lacking an out-and-out forward who will guarantee them goals in the biggest moments of the season.

In Osimhen, the North London outfit would have just that, with a striker that possesses pace, aerial prowess and a willingness to run the hard yards.

While it would be an expensive deal, the 25-year-old has a proven record at the top level and in Europe.

Arsenal sign Benjamin Sesko

Another ideal option to bolster the strikeforce available to Arteta is RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko has been heavily linked with a transfer to Arsenal, following a campaign where he has scored 14 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances.

At just 21 years old, the forward has plenty of time to hit his peak, making him an option who is capable of playing now but can be rotated as he improves.

Transfer exits

While this is something of a dream scenario, the reality is that Arsenal will still need to sell some of their players to keep a balance within the squad.

Moves for Kieran Tierney, Fabio Vieira, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko could help free some much-needed squad space while saving on wages and boosting the transfer budget by a little bit.

Arsenal sign a new left-back

With injury troubles and a lack of consistency in performances, Zinchenko hasn’t quite got the grip on the left-back spot that he once had.

Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber have shown an ability to play there, but in the long term, Arsenal may look elsewhere to bolster their ranks.

A new left-back would be ideal and while Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato, they may be best off looking in the Premier League for a reduced risk in adapting to the team and the division.

For this reason, Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri may be the best option available to the Gunners in the coming months.

At just 22 years old, the left-back already has several seasons of experience in England and has started to impress at Molineux.

Ait-Nouri is more than comfortable joining in the attacking phase and would offer Gabriel Martinelli the support he needs to return to his best.

New Declan Rice partner

Arsenal could sign a new midfielder to play in the deeper midfield role, allowing Declan Rice to push further up the pitch alongside Martin Odegaard.

With the current squad options in this department at the latter end of their careers, a younger signing may be a wise decision.

The best option in the market may be PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who has struggled to find his feet with the Ligue 1 champions.

Despite those struggles, the 23-year-old has still displayed an ability to cover a lot of ground with excellent work in winning the ball back.

With PSG likely to look for a return on investment, it could be a chance for Arsenal to take advantage.
