Aston Villa transfer gossip as Unai Emery targets Pedro Goncalves

Price-wise, the most significant news is that Aston Villa learned the asking price for Sporting CP star Pedro Goncalves. O Jogo detailed that the Portuguese winger could only leave if his £68m release clause in place at Sporting was honoured, which could be a difficult hurdle for Villa to overcome amid PSR concerns.

Elsewhere in Europe, Villa have been linked to Assan Ouedraogo, who could be on the move from Schalke this summer. Journalist Florian Plettenberg listed Villa as one of the many clubs interested in the highly-rated 18-year-old, who is said to be valued at around £12m.

There could however be a problem in Villa’s pursuit of the defender, who would reportedly prefer to remain in Germany, with Bayern Munich also interested.

Closer to home, Villa hope to strike a deal for Luton Town midfielder Ross Barkley after the Hatters’ relegation. Fabrizio Romano reported that the club are pushing to welcome the former Villa loanee back to Villa Park this summer.

There is news that Emery could entertain as many as two Arsenal reunions this summer, with Emile Smith Rowe linked to Aston Villa and an interesting update about Matteo Guendouzi’s transfer stance.

Finally, Villa have expressed an interest in Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, who could be sold this summer as the Blues look to steer away from breaching PSR.

Transfer gossip as some of Emery’s players could leave Villa this summer

The most unexpected update on possible outgoings is that Douglas Luiz wants to leave Aston Villa. That is the belief of Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, who reported Juventus’ interest in the Brazilian.

Diego Carlos could leave Villa due to PSR concerns, with doubts over the centre-back’s future as a result of the club’s need to get their wage costs down this summer. While AC Milan are showing interest in Carlos, according to the Telegraph, Villa could face an opposing struggle when trying to shift another high-earner at the club.

Philippe Coutinho could leave Aston Villa on loan this summer, despite the Villans’ hopes to cut ties with the former Liverpool star. Vasco Da Gama want to reunite with their academy graduate but believe a loan deal is the most appropriate way to secure his signature this summer, as per ge Vasco.
