On Monday, June 3, the Russian Federation intensified its active actions in the Orikhiv direction. Combat operations were ongoing in the area of Mala Tokmachka, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, as of 08:00 p.m., the total number of Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions since the beginning of the day has reached 102. Despite this, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their defense steadfastly and destroy the enemy's offensive potential.
Currently, the enemy has become more active in the Orikhiv direction, particularly in the area of Mala Tokmachka. There, the Russian forces have already attacked seven times throughout the day.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, four combat clashes have occurred. Battles are ongoing in the vicinity of Vovchansk. Russian troops are launching air strikes in the north of Kharkiv region using guided air bombs. Currently, the enemy has already carried out at least 10 strikes with guided air bombs from the directions of Belgorod and Shebekino (Russia).
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted to break through our defensive lines 15 times. Two of these combat clashes are still ongoing.
In theSiversk direction, the number of Russian assault actions has increased to 21 since the beginning of the day. Ten of them are still ongoing in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamyanske.
In the Pokrovsk direction, there are currently 11 battles ongoing. The total number of clashes today has risen to 35. The irreversible losses of the enemy in this direction amount to almost 290 personnel killed and wounded, four combat armored vehicles destroyed, four artillery systems, and six units of automotive equipment destroyed. Two armored vehicles, one artillery system, and one unit of automotive equipment were damaged. The enemy is using guided air bombs in this direction. Additionally, Kostyantynivka and Mykhailivka in the Kupiansk direction and Zolota Nyva in the Vremivka direction are being bombed with air bombs.
Russian army launches a new offensive
After regrouping its forces, Russia began a renewed offensive in the northern Kharkiv region in early May 2024.
Constant shelling of border villages is ongoing, and the Russian troops have managed to advance partially towards the city of Vovchansk.
Furthermore, Russia has intensified its forces along the entire front line. Later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, revealed that the aggressors had changed tactics in the Kharkiv direction.
