One of the real bright spots for Manchester United last season was the emergence of the club’s academy prospects into the first-team.
Erik Ten Hag rewarded numerous Carrington graduates with chances in the first-team and the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have made themselves key members of the squad this term.
Another who has emerged is attacking midfielder Omari Forson – who was handed a Premier League start at Fulham, whilst also playing in a further half-a-dozen games.
After the match at Craven Cottage, Erik Ten Hag was left in no doubt Forson deserved his chance.
“I think it was reasonable. He had some good actions. He was reliable in defending and had some good actions in possession. I saw, for his first time, he did well,” the United boss told the club’s website.
“He deserves the position. Lately, he’s performing very well, over the last half year he’s worked very hard, showed his progression.”
However, Forson – unlike Mainoo, Garnacho and close-friend Willy Kambwala, does not see his future at Old Trafford.

HITC understands Omari Forson’s representatives have informed Manchester United he will be leaving the club when his contract expires later this month.
Talks with Forson over a new long-term deal started last summer and stalled, but as HITC revealed earlier this year, United bosses were confident that was he was shown there was a pathway into the first-team for him, he would sign a new deal deal.
HITC is told that his youth team colleagues Mainoo and Kambwala had pushed for Forson to stay, but he is mind is made up and he is leaving.
HITC is told that Forson has already made his mind-up on where his next move will be, but that is not yet confirmed – but sources previously revealed to HITC that Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Leicester City were among the sides that had shown an interest, whilst on the continent the likes of RB Leipzig and Monaco had also showed an interest.
