BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - Jackie Jamal Hines, 46, Melbourne, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine.
Hines faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 10 years, up to life, in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
According to court documents, on December 6, 2023, Hines attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Hines after leaving his storage unit in Melbourne, Florida.

Hines exited his vehicle and fled on foot from law enforcement.
Once he was detained, officers located a bag containing over 300 grams of cocaine and two digital scales on his person. Hines was also in possession of a key to his storage unit.
A search warrant was then obtained for the storage unit, where agents located a safe with five pressed bricks containing about a kilogram of cocaine each.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Melbourne Police Department investigated this case, which is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman.
