Jack Wilshere reacts after Taylor Foran confirms he’s leaving Arsenal

Taylor Foran has been at Arsenal since he was just seven years old.

The talented central defender came through the ranks at the club and played a key role in the club’s youth team over the years.

Foran has often been called up by Mikel Arteta to train with Arsenal’s first-team as well, and many people who watched him play at the club felt he had what it takes to make it at the top level one day.

However, after a season in which Foran played just 16 games, the time has come for him to walk away and seek a new challenge.

Foran took to Instagram to reveal that he will be leaving the club this summer. That brings an end to his 13-year stay on Arsenal’s books.

The youngster confirmed that his next step would be to play senior football elsewhere. “I’m so ready to take on the challenge of men’s first-team football, he said in an emotional post.

Many of his teammates, including Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly showed him some love under his post on Instagram.

Arsenal U18s boss Wilshere wished him well too. “Good luck, Taylor,” he wrote.

Crazy story of how Foran made his U23s debut as a goalkeeper

Foran was in contention to play for Arsenal’s U23s side when he was just 17 years old – that’s how highly he was rated behind the scenes.

However, his debut wasn’t what he or anyone else would’ve expected.

Back in October 2020, Foran was called up to the U23s side for a game against Manchester City.

He started the game on the bench, but after Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein got himself a red card, Foran was called up to play in goal.

I was thinking ‘Oh my god, what have I let myself in for,’” he told Arsenal’s official website.

However, he stepped up to the challenge, did as well as he could and then received a phenomenal reception from his teammates when he went back into the dressing room.
