Jadon Sancho sends emotionally charged seven-word message to Borussia Dortmund teammate after Champions League final

Manchester United misfit Jadon Sancho sent a message to one of his Borussia Dortmund teammates after playing his last match for the club during his loan spell.

Jadon Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund back in January and the Manchester United winger will return to Old Trafford on 30th June when his loan deal expires.

The 24-year-old was handed a lifeline away from the Premier League club after he was frozen out of the United first team in 2023.

Sancho had hit out on social media in a bombshell statement last September after United manager Erik ten Hag revealed why he didn’t make his matchday squad.

The United star signed for Dortmund on a six-month deal and Sancho impressed at times during his second spell with the Bundesliga club.

Sancho, who only managed three appearances for United in the 2023-24 season, played 21 times for Dortmund and scored three times and picked up three assists.

The England international was also a key part of Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final, with the German club falling short of the trophy in the final.

Sancho’s Dortmund teammate speaks out

Jadon Sancho’s final match for Borussia Dortmund ended in a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.

Dani Carvajal broke the deadlock late in the second half by firing Madrid into the lead before Vinicius Junior doubled Los Blancos’ advantage nine minutes later.

Dortmund impressed in the first half against the Spanish club and Edin Terzic’s men pilled the pressure on Madrid in the Champions League encounter.

Sancho started the Champions League final and failed to make his mark, while former United teammate Marcel Sabitzer impressed with his performance.

Marco Reus came off the bench in the second half and replaced Karim Adeyemi, with the German receiving a spine-tingling reception in his final match for Dortmund.

The 35-year-old Dortmund star took to social media after the match and sent out a heartfelt post to mark the end of his stunning run at the German club.

Speaking on Instagram, Marco Reus wrote: “So! That’s it! Unfortunately, not with the ending we all deserved, but what an unbelievably great time I was allowed to experience!

“[Dortmund] fans, thank you very much for everything you have given me since day one! We have grown together all these years [and] been through all the ups and downs, for that I just want to say thank you! I will always be one of you!

“I want to thank from the bottom of my heart to my fellow players, coaches, staff and supervisors! I had the chance to meet such great people, both on and off the court spent a wonderful time with you!

“I was able to be who I am because of you!! I’m going to miss you guys!

“Now it’s time to put away the black and yellow jersey. A new adventure awaits me. I will always wear these colours in my heart and support you from anywhere!

“Take care, we’ll meet again!”

Sancho’s message to Reus

Sancho played alongside Reus during his first spell at Dortmund before he made his blockbuster move to Old Trafford in 2021.

The England winger, who spoke out on his second spell, was then reunited with former Dortmund captain Reus during his loan deal for the 2023-24 season.

Reus, who has been with Dortmund since 2012, will become a free agent on 30th June when his contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires.

Sancho took to Instagram Stories and shared Reus’ emotionally charged post alongside a message for his Dortmund teammate.

“I love you, brother, forever [and] always,” he wrote, adding a crossed fingers emoji and a heart emoji.
