Arsenal shirt numbers Benjamin Sesko can pick after reported £47m transfer 'bid'

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Gunners are in the market for a new forward in the coming weeks, looking to add some firepower that will push them towards Premier League glory.

Mikel Arteta has been rumoured with interest in a whole host of centre-forwards, with Victor Osimhen amongst the names linked with Arsenal.

However, the latest option that has appeared on the radar of the Gunners is Sesko, following on from an impressive campaign in Germany.

In 31 Bundesliga appearances, the striker managed to bag 14 goals and laid on two assists to help Leipzig secure Champions League qualification.

Those performances have led to interest, with recent reports claiming that Arsenal have bid roughly £47million to sign Sesko this summer.

The 21-year-old is stated to have a release clause just north of that figure, sitting around the £55million mark, though it remains to be seen if that will be triggered.

What Arsenal squad number could Benjamin Sesko pick?

While the transfer saga is far from over, there are several squad numbers Sesko could pick if he does eventually arrive at the Emirates Stadium.

Looking back at the striker’s shirt number history, he has only worn the number 21 or 30 in his senior club career so far, while the number 11 has been his choice at international level for Slovenia.

While the number 21 is currently taken by Fabio Vieira, 30 is available for Sesko should he wish to carry over his option from RB Leipzig.

Here are several other options available to the striker at Arsenal (1-40): 13, 16, 17, 25, 26, 28, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40.

Arsenal striker transfer decision

Should Arsenal look to complete a deal for Sesko this summer, there will be plenty of questions surrounding the squad balance.

Exits may have to be facilitated for some members of the team, with plenty of rumours already surrounding a few deals.

Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a £30million move to Fulham, following a campaign where he struggled to gain minutes for the Gunners.

Gabriel Jesus has also been heavily linked with a potential move away from Arsenal, with his influence on the first-team dwindling.

It remains to be seen exactly how Arsenal tackle the challenge of transforming their forward ranks in the coming weeks.
