Why Casemiro has now ‘joined’ Marbella FC and posed with the shirt

Casemiro began his summer holidays a little over a week ago and has now announced an interesting new venture.

Before Manchester United lifted the FA Cup final two Saturdays ago, Casemiro bizarrely dropped out of the squad completely which saw him miss out, and even give his medal away to Tyrell Malacia.

This could be the last we saw of Casemiro at United, with rumours persisting that he will be exiting this summer and reports even suggesting that a fee as high as £80m could be received for his sale.

But as we await developments on his transfer situation, Casemiro has just been announced by another club for a very interesting reason, as he takes on a new venture in football.

Here’s what Casemiro has now announced.

Why Casemiro has ‘joined’ Marbella FC

In an interesting new project for Casemiro, he has been announced in an official press release by Marbella FC to have become a new shareholder at the club.

“Marbella Football Club is pleased to announce that Carlos Henrique Casemiro, star of Manchester United, of the Brazilian national team and five-time winner of the Champions League, becomes a new shareholder of our entity from today,” the statement from the Spanish club explained.

“The enthusiasm and commitment that Casemiro shows with the Marbella FC project is evident with his incorporation into the club’s shareholding structure. Not only Marbella but also the whole city, are proud that an athlete of his global dimension wants to belong to our family.

“The confirmation of Casemiro as a new member of the board of directors is a historic opportunity for the club to continue projecting its institutional and sporting strategy in elite football,” it was continued.

Casemiro himself also commented on the announcement as he said: “It is an honour for me to join Marbella Football Club because my greatest motivation is the spectacular possibilities for the growth of the club”.

Casemiro then explained why he chose Marbella, explaining that he’d been on holiday with his family to the city on “several occasions”, which led to him falling in love with the area and therefore he wanted to be linked “for life” with the club.

“Without a doubt, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the top, but now we have to enjoy our wonderful promotion to the First Division,” he then added.

Marbella then concluded: “The passion, leadership and sense of responsibility that have always guided Casemiro in his professional career are more than justified reasons why we open the doors of our home to him today.”

What league do Marbella FC play in?

After joining Marbella, Casemiro will now be watching his club in the Primera RFEF next season which is Spain’s third their of football. It was only days ago that they secured promotion too, winning two playoff rounds to do so.

Miraculously, the club have risen so far considering only last season they were in the fifth tier, but now back-to-back promotions have them two leagues below La Liga.

Casemiro won’t be involved in the day-to-day running, however, to see him planning for his future and making arrangements for after his retirement is encouraging.

The Brazilian is likely to be departing Old Trafford this summer, with a move to Saudi Arabia, joining Cristiano Ronaldo looking more likely by the day.
