Report shares whether Manchester United have given up hope of keeping Omari Forson amid rumoured exit

Manchester United are expected to target a number of young players under Ineos but may have a problem keeping one prospect at the club.

June has arrived and we are now expecting to see a very busy summer transfer window take shape.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are now on board and big changes are coming at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s future is unclear and the Manchester United boss is still facing a nervous wait to learn his fate after winning the FA Cup final.

A new structure at the club is forming with Omer Berrada and Jason Wilcox taking key roles and Dan Ashworth likely to arrive in the future.

There is also the small matter of the transfer window with Ineos having a first real crack at bringing quality to the club.

Supporters are expecting to see a new approach, focusing on players with big potential rather than spending big money on the likes of Raphael Varane and Casemiro.

Manchester United stance on Omari Forson

United have already pounced for one very young prospect, landing 14-year-old Silva Mexes – the son of former Premier League striker Robert Earnshaw – from Ipswich Town.

Ineos will want to see young players starring in the United first team, just like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

There is a problem though as United could lose a top talent this summer.

Reports suggest that winger Omari Forson is now expected to leave United when his contract expires at the end of June.

The former Tottenham Hotspur youngster has been something of a contract rebel in recent months and now looks poised to leave.

The Manchester Evening News now suggest that United haven’t completely given up hope just yet.

It’s suggested that United plan to keep offering Forson new deals in the hope of finally reaching an agreement.United may offer more money or incentives but this may not be a financially-motivated decision.

Forson turns 20 in July and has only managed seven first-team appearances for United, recording one Premier League assist.

The England Under-20 international may simply want more first-team chances elsewhere and unless United come u9p with promises – which they may not be able to fulfil – then he may well move on.

Forson could return south

The report adds that Forson ‘could return south’ and head cl0ser to home.

Forson hails from Hammersmith in West London and started out with West Ham United before joining Tottenham.

Forson certainly has roots in London and a return to the capital would not be a surprise for anybody.

The likes of Brentford, Crystal Palace and Fulham should certainly be interested in Forson and who could rule out moves back to Tottenham or West Ham?

Forson has bags of talent and potential and whilst United aren’t giving up, there seems to be a real reluctance from the winger to commit his future to the club.

United can offer money but if Forson receives the combination of first-team prospects and a return closer to home, the decision may become simple for him.
