US Treasury calls on American companies to monitor the implementation of sanctions against Russia, according to Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo.

He noted that US companies should pay more attention to their supply chains to avoid becoming complicit in Russian attempts to circumvent Western sanctions.

In particular, according to Adeyemo, microelectronics and machine tool manufacturers should pay special attention to this issue, as Russia can use them to obtain dual-use goods.

At the same time, the US Deputy Treasury Secretary said that US financial institutions should review their relations with small and medium-sized banks in problematic countries as Moscow seeks ways to circumvent US sanctions.

What preceded it

The components manufactured in Western countries have been repeatedly found in Russian weapons.

In particular, according to the Office of the President, about 70% of the Western parts found in the occupiers' weapons were made in the United States.

Foreign parts have also been found in missiles that Russia has been actively using to strike at Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, killing civilians.
