Report: West Ham could now move for 'excellent' Inter Miami star to replace Lucas Paqueta

West Ham could soon launch a move for an Inter Miami star to replace Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta this summer.

The Premier League maestro is in hot water following an alleged betting scandal that has seen Paqueta charged by the English FA, which could lead to a lifelong ban from soccer given the evidence that has been presented.

With Paqueta one of West Ham’s most important players, the Irons will need to work fast and smart this summer if they’re to replace the former Olympique Lyonnais star, who was due to move to Manchester City this window.

And Inter Miami could now have the answer for West Ham.

Inter Miami’s Diego Gomez eyed by West Ham as summer signing

According to AS, Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez could be one of two players West Ham sign this summer to replace Paqueta, alongside Palmeiras star Luis Guilherme.

Gomez has already been linked with a move to West Ham heading into the transfer window, with the 21-year-old due to return to action soon having missed the last two months due to injury.

With Brighton & Hove Albion also believed to be interested in Gomez, the race to sign the Paraguay international could be about to heat up in a big way this summer.

Lauded as an ‘excellent’ midfielder, Gomez is one of Inter Miami’s most prized assets, and a move to the Premier League could now be on the cards with West Ham looking to replace Paqueta.

Gomez could now be tempted with move to Europe this summer

News of Paqueta’s potential ban for life has sent shockwaves around the soccer world, with the midfielder regarded as one of the best in the Premier League and a potential superstar in the making.

Yet for Gomez, such an update could now tempt the midfielder to make the move to Europe with West Ham, with an open position now there to be filled in east London.

Whislt the yougnster could still benefit from an extra six months in MLS, a chance like this to move to the Premier League might not come again for Gomez, who will be confident in his abilities to make an impact at a team as big as West Ham.
