Manchester City may find it difficult to offload one of their fringe players this summer.
Numerous players have been sold by the Manchester club in previous transfer windows for significant sums of money.
Players such as Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling all waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium in recent years.
Now though, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding one current player in the City squad and what the club’s stance on him is in regards to a potential sale.

Man City could sell Matheus Nunes, but there’s a catch
- Man City summer transfer window 2024: Confirmed signings, departures, loan exits and releases
A recent report from The Athletic had this to say about the Manchester club’s stance on selling players during the upcoming window.
It said: “City would listen to serious offers for any players who want to go, providing they do not come too late in the window.
“Matheus Nunes, for example, could be gone just a year after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers if a bid arrives, but there is seemingly a small market for him.”
City signed the midfielder from Wolves during the previous summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £53m.
Nunese had a rather underwhelming debut campaign at City
In his debut season in Pep Guardiola’s side, Nunes only appeared in 31 games across all competitions, starting just 14 of them.
Last month, towards the end of the season, it was reported that Guardiola views Nunes as a useful player, who has not complained about his lack of regular games, and would like to use the 25-year-old in the team more.
Now that it has been claimed not many clubs are currently looking to land a deal for the City midfielder, this should take the external focus away from his future and a potential summer exit.
Therefore, we feel that the club and player, in regards to next season, should only focus on having a better campaign next term and becoming a more prominent figure in the City team.
