In a devastating random attack, a 3-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a shocking act of violence that unfolded in the parking lot of a Giant Eagle supermarket in North Olmsted, Ohio.
The incident, which has been described as a "random act of violence," has left the local community reeling and searching for answers.
On Monday afternoon, North Olmsted police received a distressing call reporting a woman, later identified as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis, allegedly stabbing people in the Giant Eagle parking lot.

Responding officers quickly apprehended Ellis, who was still carrying the kitchen knife used in the attack.
Tragically, the young victim was identified as Julian Wood, the son of 38-year-old Margot Wood, who was also injured in the assault but is expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation into the motive behind this senseless act is still ongoing, but authorities have confirmed that Ellis and the victims had no prior interactions before the incident.

Bionca Ellis is known to the North Olmsted Police Department for a prior offense of theft, but she had no known violent criminal history. Her sudden and seemingly unprovoked attack on the innocent mother and child has left the community searching for answers and grappling with the devastating consequences, according to ABC News.

North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones expressed the community's heartbreak, describing the loss of Julian Wood as "a terrible tragedy for our entire community."
The Giant Eagle supermarket, where the incident took place, also issued a statement, expressing their grief and offering support to their store teams and the local community.
Bionca Ellis is expected to make her first court appearance on Tuesday, and additional charges are likely to be added once the case is presented to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.
The investigation into the motive behind this heinous act is still ongoing, and authorities are determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to the victims' families.
Ellis is currently being held in the North Olmsted Jail on a charge of aggravated murder but may face additional charges at a later date. She is being held on a $1 million bond.
