Every Inter Miami player called up for summer international fixtures

Inter Miami are set for a hectic summer both on and off the pitch, with the Herons set to lose a number of key players due to the international break.

Whilst most soccer clubs around the world enjoyed a well-earned break at this stage in the year, Inter Miami will play on throughout the summer despite two major competitions in the Copa America and Euros.

Indeed, whilst the Florida franchise have been spared from players heading back to Europe for the competition, the Copa America and warm-up friendlies could prove to be an issue with how many big names are due to leave Inter Miami.

And here is every player called up for international duty this summer.

Lionel Messi – Argentina

The biggest loss for Inter Miami this summer will of course be their captain and star forward Lionel Messi, who could be about to appear in his final international competition with Argentina.

Heading into the Copa America as the holders having also won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it’s no real surprise that Argentina are the early tournament favorites, with Messi heading into the competition fully fit and in good form.

Having enjoyed a record-breaking year already with Inter Miami, Messi will want to thrive this international break at one of the biggest tournament in soccer, where the world will be watching.

Luis Suarez – Uruguay

Another huge loss for Inter Miami this summer will be Luis Suarez, who has made Marcelo Bielsa’s provisional squad for Uruguay ahead of the Copa America in the United States.

Whilst some cuts are due to be made, there is an expectation that Suarez will be named in the final Copa America team, alongside some huge names like Liverpool superstar Darwin Nunez and FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

With 21 goal contributions already in all competitions for Inter Miami, Suarez could end being as big a miss for the Herons this summer as Messi, with the pair two of the most important players for Tata Martino.

Matias Rojas – Paraguay

Despite only signing in late April, Matias Rojas has made an incredible contribution to Inter Miami’s attacking output having established himself as arguably the franchise’s third-best forward.

Three goals and two assists from eight fixtures is an impressive return for a player who has not played at all this year, and Rojas’ inclusion in the provisional Paraguay squad for the Copa America is warranted.

Much like Suarez, cuts will be made to La Albirroja before the competition starts, yet the expectation is that Rojas’ place in Paraguay’s team will be kept safe given his form in recent weeks.

Benjamin Cremaschi – United States [Olympic Team]

One of two internationals who won’t be heading to the Copa America from Inter Miami, Benjamin Cremaschi has this week linked up with the United States Olympic team ahead of the tournament later this summer.

Whilst the games themselves won’t start until late July, a training camp will see Cremaschi miss the next two weeks of action for Inter Miami before heading out to Paris next month to compete for Olympic gold.

With Team USA as stacked as they have been in some time, Cremaschi will have a big role to play in the States making an impact at the Olympics, where confidence is high that a medal can be won.

David Ruiz – Honduras

With zero minutes in the last two MLS games, David Ruiz is an Inter Miami player who could do with an international break more than most given his limited playing time.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder will again represent Honduras having been called up earlier this year, with the Central American nation taking on the likes of Cuba and Ecuador in summer friendlies.

With Inter Miami’s squad set to be decimated throughout the summer, Ruiz could use this international break to make a name for himself back home in Florida, where the youngster could return to the starting XI.
