Report: Mikel Arteta is expected to give more opportunities to 17-year-old Arsenal youngster next season

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to give a lot more game time to one of the club’s finest young talents next season.

The Gunners came ever so close to pipping Manchester City to the Premier League title in the 2023/24 campaign. They finished just two points short in the end.

The focus now is on summer transfers ahead of the start of the new season, but Arteta may have a special plan for one hugely talented young player at Arsenal.

Ethan Nwaneri set to get more first-team opportunities at Arsenal

Ethan Nwaneri is one of the best young players in the country.

The 17-year-old Englishman made history by becoming the youngest player ever to make an appearance in the Premier League during the 2022/23 season.

He made one appearance in the recently concluded campaign as well – an impressive cameo against West Ham United in a game Arsenal won 6-0.

Nwaneri has been making great strides at Arsenal. He has been brilliant for the youth sides and is often spotted in first-team training sessions under Arteta.

The Arsenal boss is now set to help take Nwaneri’s game to the next level.

The Athletic reveal that the 17-year-old is expected to get more opportunities with the first team in the 2024/25 season.

He may not be a regular, but he could find himself on the pitch on several occasions. That would be magnificent for the youngster.

Nwaneri could replace Arsenal fan favourite at the Emirates

All eyes will be on incomings in this summer’s transfer window, but quite a few Arsenal players could be sold as well.

One of them is Emile Smith Rowe.

The Englishman hasn’t played a lot of football in the last two seasons, and there is a big chance he could be sold once the window opens.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Wolves are all interested in signing Smith Rowe this summer.

If the Hale End graduate does leave the Emirates, there will be a spot open for someone else in the first team, and we think Nwaneri could replace him in the senior side.
