Report: Newcastle genuinely think they have a 'frightening' player who'll become one of the best in the world

Newcastle United want to become the best club in the world, and to do that you need the best players.

As Real Madrid showed on Saturday, you need an elite team to win European football’s ultimate prize – the Champions League. You also need Joselu, a player who was largely disappointing in a Newcastle United shirt.

For the Magpies, they continue to try to bring in players who are going to take the club to the next level. That is the goal this summer, with Newcastle United planning to make at least four senior signings.

However, some of Newcastle’s players are already at the elite level. Bruno Guimaraes is considered a world class midfielder by Eddie Howe, while Dan Burn has said the same about Alexander Isak.

Newcastle think Alexander Isak can become the best

In fact, Isak is a player who Newcastle United believe can go right to the top of the game.

That is according to iNews, who report that people at the club believe Isak has the ability to become the best striker in world football.

This comes on the back of the 24-year-old enjoying his best season ever, with Isak scoring 21 Premier League goals as he missed out on the golden boot. In all competitions, he scored 24 times, showcasing an ability in front of goal that is ‘frightening‘ according to Kieran Trippier.

That is the only way to describe Isak’s finishing ability, but that is not his only quality. His movement is outstanding, while he is also lightening quick. Add in his dribbling ability and the Sweden international has the tools to be considered the best in class.

Newcastle bought Isak at the perfect time

That is what Newcastle think he can become, which is why they will be so happy they bought him when they did. He cost a club record £63million in 2022, buying him on the back of a disappointing season for Real Sociedad.

Newcastle managed to sign him without any competition, despite him being a player that would improve every Premier League starting XI bar Manchester City.

The timing was absolutely perfect, even if the fee was pretty large. But with every goal he scores, the cost becomes more and more reasonable.

Toon officials hoping to extend Isak’s St James’ Park stay

It was so reasonable that Newcastle now think he is worth treble that amount, with a recent report claiming it would take an offer of around £180million for the Magpies to even think about selling the forward.

Isak has been the subject of interest from Arsenal, who squandered the opportunity to sign the Swede before his move to Tyneside.

Now he is out of their price range, while Newcastle officials are making moves to keep him at St James’ Park for a long time.

iNews report that the Magpies are hoping to make Isak one of their best paid players in history, as they look to extend his contract. He has made it clear that he has no plans to leave, so hopefully that results in a new deal being signed very soon.
