The summer transfer window will officially open on June 14th, and by which point, Sheffield Wednesday will hope to have some new signings lined up.

It promises to be a busy summer in S6 for manager Danny Rohl after he penned a new three-year deal with the Owls last month.

There’s plenty of names to replace in the side and improvements to be made. But fans will be delighted to see that Sheffield Wednesday appear to be active in their summer transfer preparations.

Michael Baidoo fancied by Sheffield Wednesday

A new name on Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer radar is Michael Baidoo; the 25-year-old Ghanaian midfielder currently plays for Elfsborg in Sweden.

He’s made a strong start to the 2024 Allsvenskan season with four goals and three assists in 12 league games so far this season.

But he’s said to be valued at up to £3.4million, with the likes of Hull City, Luton Town, and Middlesbrough also interested.

Cameron Dawson set to leave Sheffield Wednesday

Long-standing Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson is out of contract this month, and now tipped to leave the club.

Despite a tough 2023/24 season in which he lost his starting spot to James Beadle, Dawson was offered fresh terms.

But it was recently revealed that he now looks set to leave the club this summer and pursue opportunities away from Hillsborough.

Ben Hamer set to join Sheffield Wednesday

Potentially replacing Dawson at Sheffield Wednesday is Ben Hamer; the 36-year-old goalkeeper has been tipped to join the Owls following his release from Watford.

Experienced shot-stopper Hamer previously worked with Owls assistance coach Chris Powell when he was managing Charlton Athletic, with the pair winning League One promotion in 2012.

James Beadle to Sheffield Wednesday latest

Upon news of Hamer being set to arrive at Sheffield Wednesday this summer, there were speculative doubts over whether or not the Owls would pursue another loan deal for Beadle.

But Sheffield Wednesday are still very much in the race to sign Beadle this summer, with Sheffield Wednesday News previously revealing that Brighton were set to loan him out again this summer.

Josh Windass latest

Striker Josh Windass is another one who’s out of contract this month, but who’s also been offered a new deal to stay beyond this summer.

He has interest from elsewhere in the Championship but recent reports revealed that Sheffield Wednesday are set for further talks with Windass regarding his future in S6.
