The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $185 million with a cash option of $86 million.
The winning numbers were: 8, 44, 45, 51 and 69. The Powerball drawn was 12, with a Power Play of 3X.
While no one across the country hit Monday’s $173 million jackpot, a second-prize, $1 million ticket was sold in Connecticut. It matched five numbers but not the Powerball.
In New Jersey, no on won more than $200 with a single ticket.
Monday’s winning numbers were: 19, 29, 35, 36 and 45. The Powerball drawn was 16, with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one won the secondary $10 million Double Play jackpot on Monday. There was also no second-prize,$500,00 winner. The winning numbers were: 25, 39, 46, 47 and 51. The Double Play number drawn was 10.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot has reset to $20 million with a cash option of $9.4 million. Someone who bought a ticket in Illinois hit Tuesday’s $552 million jackpot.
