Report: £26m player wants Ange Postecoglou to make him a starter at Tottenham or he could leave

One Tottenham Hotspur player could leave the club if he doesn’t get assurances that he will be a starter next season.

Ange Postecoglou had a good debut season at Spurs, but it was clear to see at the end of the 2023/24 campaign that he wasn’t satisfied with what his side achieved.

The Tottenham boss will demand even more from his team next season, but he could have a bit of a problem with one player, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Radu Dragusin’s demand from Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January 2024.

The Romanian has only been at the club for a few months, but people around him have been very vocal about his situation.

Dragusin’s agent has expressed his unhappiness about the fact that his client is not a regular starter at Tottenham under Posteciglou.

There has been a lot of speculation about the defender’s future since, with reports claiming Dragusin could leave the club and join Napoli.

Now, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have shared the latest on the situation. It has been claimed that Napoli, who have just appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager, are indeed interested in Dragusin.

The Serie A giants wanted to sign him in January, but he chose Spurs then.

Now, the report claims Dragusin is demanding assurances that he will be a starter at the club next summer. If he doesn’t get them from Postecoglou, he could decide to leave.

How much Tottenham could sell Dragusin for

Tottenham signed Dragusin for £26.7 million in January (Sky Sports).

The 22-year-old has played nine times for Spurs since his move to North London, but just four of those appearances have come from the start.

Usually, when a player joins a club and decides to leave six months later after only a handful appearances, his value would decrease.

However, in Dragusin and Tottenham’s case, things could be very different.

Although Postecoglou doesn’t want to sell Dragusin, if the player wants to leave, Tottenham will demand as much as £40 million to let him go.

That would hand Daniel Levy a tidy little profit, but the ideal scenario for Spurs would be to keep hold of him.
