20-goal striker is perfect for Manchester United and club 'need to sell quickly', he would be ideal bargain

Manchester United are looking to sign a striker this summer to support Rasmus Hojlund, but the market is a complicated one.

Assessing the option to sign a striker for Manchester United, you can see why it’s complicated. Nobody wants to sign another 35-year-old veteran like the Glazers have done in the past.

A young option like Benjamin Sesko is interesting, but very costly and also unproven. Ivan Toney is Premier League proven, but could be over-priced if Brentford want more than £50 million.

If Ineos are as sensible as they claim to be, then a move for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri could tick every single box for Manchester United.

Youssef En-Nesyri current situation

Sevilla signed Youssef En-Nesyri in 2020 from Leganes, and he has been a consistent goalscorer for the La Liga side.

At present, Sevilla are enduring financial problems and Estadio Deportivo report the club is now focused on selling the centre forward.

The newspaper report: “The transfer of En-Nesyri has become a fundamental factor for Sevilla’s planning for next season, as it needs to make money with his transfer as soon as possible.”

It is claimed Sevilla are determined to agree a sale for En-Nesyri before the end of the June, for accounting purposes.

There is said to be interest from Saudi clubs plus Tottenham, with En-Nesyri preferring a move to the Premier League.

Sevilla are ready to sell on the cheap, with it claimed their ‘need to sell quickly’ limits the actual transfer fee they might receive.

ED add: “The most logical thing would be for them to settle for an amount that was around 20-25 million (Euros) with the inclusion of bonuses, although there are voices that suggest that Sevilla would accept offers of around 15 million.”

15 million Euros would equate to just £12 million – a bargain for a player with his experience and quality.

Why Youssef En-Nesyri would fit United

Youssef En-Nesyri turned 27 this week, and could be ideal support for Rasmus Hojlund. He has experience so can shoulder the workload, while he would not block the Danish striker’s development long-term either. And he should be hitting his peak

This past season En-Nesyri scored 20 goals in 41 appearances for Sevilla. The previous season he struck 18 goals.

United do know him well. He scored a brace in Sevilla’s 3-0 win over United in the Europa League quarter-finals in 2023.

This came months after his towering header for Morocco knocked Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot out of the 2022 World Cup.

United were linked to En-Nesyri in The Sun last December, with it claimed scouts had been sent to watch him in action.

A move for the 71-capped international striker would add goals and experience to United’s frontline, at a knockdown price, leaving funds available for centre-backs, midfielder and left-back, perhaps even a winger too.
