German defense minister wants to prepare Bundeswehr for war with Russia in five years

German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius stated that Germany must be prepared for a war that could occur in 2029 involving a conflict with Russia.

He added that Germany needs to ensure deterrence to prevent the worst-case scenario. Pistorius emphasized that finances, materials, and personnel are crucial for improving the state of the Bundeswehr.

US announces new arms supplies to Ukraine in coming weeks

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the United States will deliver new aid packages to Ukraine soon. The White House believes that American weapons are making a difference on the battlefield in Ukraine.

He says there will be announcements of further deliveries of significant capabilities to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Sullivan says that Ukraine was in a hole because of delays in sending US military aid. But according to the White House adviser, Ukraine is strengthening the lines in key places, particularly stopping Russia's offensive north of Kharkiv.

Sullivan also notes that the United States is supplying Ukraine with ammunition and other weapons. He agreed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that more air defense equipment is needed, and the United States is working on it.

General Staff identifies direction on front where Russia suffers most casualties

Russia has concentrated its forces in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk directions. As of 08:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, the number of enemy offensive and assault actions has increased to 81, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, the Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest. There, the number of enemy attacks has increased to 19. Russian troops are most actively pressing in the Sokol area.

As a result, the Russians are suffering losses in personnel - today it's already 354 individuals. Meanwhile, Ukrainian soldiers have destroyed a tank, three armored vehicles, seven artillery pieces, a ground drone, and a car. Thirteen units of various enemy military equipment have been damaged as well.

Ukraine receives Cheetah anti-aircraft systems previously used by Netherlands

Ukrainian soldiers began to use Cheetah systems to protect the airspace from enemy targets. This is an analog of the German Gepard, according to the West Air Command of the Air Force of Ukraine.

The military reported that this anti-aircraft gun is equipped with two 35-millimeter cannons. There are also radar stations on board for tracking and searching for targets and guidance.

Ukrainian defenders have already used American weapons to strike Russian territory, according to the Associated Press.

An unnamed Western official confirmed the information about strikes on Russian territory with US weapons to the agency.

Monument in Moscow city center tagged with Ukrainian intelligence inscription

An inscription reading "DIU" (Defense Intelligence Directorate), which stands for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, has appeared on a monument to Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov in Moscow's Manezhnaya Square.

The inscription appeared on the monument on Monday evening, June 3. It was allegedly made by two nurses - 55-year-old Vera Nikolaeva and 28-year-old Anastasia Lysenko.

Reports indicate that the women were detained immediately after writing "DIU" on the monument. They allegedly did this under the instruction of phone scammers they had been in contact with for about a week.
