Finland will continue to assist Ukraine but will not send its military personnel to Ukrainian territory, citing Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Stubb made the relevant statement during a press conference with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The Secretary-General also said that the Alliance does not intend to send troops to Ukraine.
The President of Finland emphasized that his country has no plans to deploy troops on Ukrainian soil. However, he added that Finland will continue to support Ukraine in various ways, both financially and militarily.
"But we have not changed our stance and will continue our support," Stubb said.
Backstory
Recently, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi announced that France is ready to send military instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian forces.
France clarified that the decision to send instructors is still under discussion and has not been finalized.
Russia has already threatened France over the initiative to send instructors, claiming that French instructors in Ukraine will be a legitimate target for Russia.
