‘Can see him finishing’: Gabby Agbonlahor reckons Man City star will leave the club in 2025

Gabby Agbonlahor has predicted that one Manchester City player will leave the club in the summer of 2025.

Over the past few years, numerous big-name players have waved goodbye to the Manchester club, either as free agents or for significant transfer fees.

Names such as Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus are just some of the big-name players that have left City in recent memory.

Even though the next summer transfer window is close to opening for business, one current figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad has been backed to have just one more season at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor had this to say on the subject of Kevin De Bruyne’s recent comments about being open to all options in regards to his future, including a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

He said: “He’s 33 this month so he’s at that age where players start looking at the Saudi move. He doesn’t look [his age] at all. He’s done it all so you can’t begrudge him for wanting to go to Saudi and make more money.

“What I like though, is that De Bruyne is being honest in what he says. He said that what I could go and earn in Saudi for a couple of years would be 15 years in the Premier League, he said that, so he’s open to all offers.

“I can see him finishing next season, leaving on a free transfer to go to Saudi.”

City should offer De Bruyne a new contract

As things stand, the midfielder’s contract at City is set to expire in the summer of 2025, which shows why Agbonlahor thinks it could be possible for him to join the Saudi Pro League, who have a reported interest in the 32-year-old, as a free agent at the end of next season.

Even though he spent a large portion of the recent season out injured, De Bruyne still managed to show how useful he can be for the team by delivering 10 assists and scoring four goals in 18 Premier League appearances.

In our view, the Citizens should offer the Belgian a new contract to keep him at the club beyond 2025, not only because of what he’s able to offer the team but also because they would be able to demand a fee for him if the player decides he wants to leave.
