Alan Shearer has claimed that one Manchester City player has the best left foot in Europe right now.
After winning the Treble last season, the Manchester club followed that up by adding another three trophies to their cabinet this term.
Having picked up the UEFA SuperCup and the FIFA Club World Cup, the Blues went on to win their sixth Premier League title in seven years, becoming the first team to win four in a row.
Now though, one particular figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad, who has played a key role in their two previous season, has found himself being praised by one pundit and former top-flight striker, who knows what it takes to be a top goalscorer.
Alan Shearer says Erling Haaland has the best left foot in Europe
In a recent video shared on Goal’s official TikTok channel, Shearer was tasked with building his ultimate Euros player.
To do this, the pundit was asked to pick certain players based on who he feels has the best right foot, left foot, speed, strength, skills and football IQ in Europe.
When asked to pick a player with the best left foot, the former England striker had this to say in response.
He said: “Left foot has to be Erling Haaland.”
Haaland is deadly with his left foot
Having scored 362 goals in 702 combined club appearances for Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Southampton throughout his playing career, Shearer certainly has the credentials to recognise and appreciate a striker like Haaland.
Since joining the Citizens back in 2022 in a deal worth £51m, the Norwegian has scored 90 goals in 98 appearances across all competitions.
Out of the 63 Premier League goals Haaland has scored across his 66 top-flight appearances, 43 of them have been scored with his left foot, with eight coming from his right foot and 11 being headed in.
