'Coup plotter!' Bannon's post-sentencing MAGA meltdown disrupted by determined heckler

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 6: Steve Bannon, former advisor to President Donald Trump, arrives at the federal courthouse to find out if or when a judge will order him to jail on June 6, 2024 in Washington, DC. Bannon has lost an appeal to overturn his sentence of four months in prison for two counts of contempt of congress for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Steve Bannon's attempts to cast his pending prison sentence as proof of a political witch hunt was swiftly shut down by an enraged protester who disrupted his courthouse press conference Thursday.

"You're a coup plotter," the protester roared. "You're going to jail!"

U.S. District Court Judge Carl Nichols Thursday revoked Bannon's bail and ordered him to surrender on July 1 to serve a four-month prison sentence following his conviction on contempt of Congress charges.

Bannon, Trump's ally and former campaign strategist, told the media Thursday that he was the victim of a political conspiracy and that "nothing that can shut me up."

This claim was challenged on social media who reveled in the fact that Bannon would find himself shut up behind bars by the federal Bureau of Prisons.

"El. Oh. El," replied Inside Edition's Lisa Guerrero. "(Spanish for LOL good riddance you monster.)"

"Rumor has it the Jail Warden has doubled this month's order of de-lousing powder," quipped X user Les LeMieux, Sr.

"That and exhausting the entire county’s supply of aerosol room deodorizer," replied Catherine E. Cullen.

"Dude looks like an infected big toe," added dustin the savage.

X user Art Candee showered kudos on the protester.

"Oh the sweet karma of someone chanting 'lock him up' to Steve Bannon after he was whining about his 4 month prison sentence being upheld for dodging a Congressional subpoena," she replied.

"Bannon crying outside of the courthouse after being told to go to prison by a Trump-appointed judge for dodging a Congressional subpoena is delicious."
