NASCAR Paint Schemes of the Week: Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway

Mandatory Credit: Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is almost here. NASCAR has descended upon Wine Country to tackle the twists and turns of Sonoma. It will be a warm weekend with some hot paint schemes.

One last trip out west before Las Vegas and Phoenix in the playoffs. This will also be the last race of the season to be broadcast on FOX. NBC picks up the race coverage starting next week at Iowa Speedway.

So, let’s get into these paint schemes for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 and give each of them a rating. A much better batch this week than last week at Gateway.

Kyle Larson No. 5 Valvoline Chevy

Kyle Larson is pulling up to Sonoma in this great Valvoline paint scheme. I am here in Sonoma with Valvoline and Hendrick Motorsports and will have more coming on that this week.

This is a really solid Valvoline schemes, they always bring great looks to the track. It’s always fun to see Larson in an alternate like this one for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. 8.5/10.

Chase Elliott No. 9 NAPA Gold Filters Chevy

This is a paint scheme that should be reserved for night races. However, I will never complain about this black and gold design from Chase Elliott.

Elliott has been quietly really good this season. Sonoma is a race that he could win if he has a good qualifying day and setup for the race. 8.5/10.

Chase Briscoe No. 14 Ford Performance Racing School Ford

Something about this design and the associate sponsors on the blocks of color makes me like it a lot. Chase Briscoe usually doesn’t have my favorite paint schemes.

However, this one looks great. Ford Performance put together a good one and it should look great in theToyota/Save Mart 350. 8/10.

Joey Logano No. 22 Autotrader Ford

Now here is a driver that needs a win and in the worst way. Joey Logano has to get this season back on track or things are going to get out of hand quickly.

The Autotrader paint scheme is always fun. Orange and blue on a racecar can’t really be beat. Another solid scheme for this week. 8.5/10.

Will Brown No. 33 Mobil X/Shaw and Partners Chevy

This is almost the same paint scheme that Brodie Kostecki ran last year at Indy, but slightly different. Will Brown is also behind the wheel of it this week.

Brown is the driver who replaced Shane van Gisbergen on his old Supercars team. Can he put up a win in his debut as well? 7.5/10.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. No. 47 Kroger Health/Tylenol Chevy

This Tylenol car looks a lot like the Cal Naughton Jr. paint scheme from Talladega Nights. Also a great sponsor for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. a few weeks after his scrap with Kyle Busch.

Stenhouse is going to be handing out Tylenol and Band-Aids if someone gets in his way this week, you can bet on that. 8.5/10.

Alex Bowman No. 48 Ally Pride Chevy

Pride Month is here and Alex Bowman is back in a Pride paint scheme. Ally does a great job with these and this year the car looks just as good as ever.

That dark purple is always great, the white lettering and numbers makes it pop. Then you have the colorful additions to the hood and the “do it right” letters on the back of the car. 8/10.

Cam Waters No. 60 AUKUS/BuildSubmarines.com Ford

A very interesting sponsorship and paint scheme for Cam Waters in his Cup Series debut. Waters has some Truck Series starts under his belt now, and it’s time for the big show.

This is a car that will be fun to watch on the track. These Supercars drivers are making the most of this Next Gen car, looking for their big break into NASCAR. 8/10.
