Doddington care home community remembers D-Day 80 years on

Residents enjoyed an afternoon tea with scones, sandwiches, coffee, and juice as part of D-Day commemorations at Askham Village Community.

Brothers David and John Saunders from March went along with their collection of wartime memorabilia to the setting in Doddington and helped the residents mark the poignant day.

They were dressed in army uniforms from the era and took along photographs, rations, and chatted to residents about the events of June 6 1944 on the Normandy beaches in France.
