Report: Chelsea considering making bid for 'magical' Champions League winning attacker very soon

Chelsea are considering a number of new signings this summer and could now make a move for a Champions League winning attacker.

The Blues are in for a busy summer as they consider making sales to stay within FFP and PSR rules, while at the same time they still want to make new signings.

With Mauricio Pochettino now gone and Enzo Maresca the man in charge, Todd Boehly and co are looking to give their new coach the best squad possible.

Tosin Adarabioyo has already been snapped up to strengthen the defensive unit.

And now, it looks like Chelsea are focussing on signing a new forward with experience of winning the biggest trophies.

Chelsea considering bid for Manchester City star Julian Alvarez

According to a report from TYC Sports, Alvarez has emerged as a player Chelsea are now seriously considering making a big play for this summer.

It’s suggested that Chelsea are even at the stage of considering a bid for Alvarez, who continues to play second fiddle to Erling Haaland.

Still, Alvarez managed an impressive enough season once again as he scored 19 goals and provided another 13 assists across the season.

Indeed, Alvarez has always impressed his manager Pep Guardiola, while Phil Foden lauded the Argentinian as a ‘magical’ player.

“Magical. Julian has been top this season. He is someone we look to now to score the big goals. He came on and changed the game and he is a big player for us,” Foden said of Alvarez back in October.

Alvarez to bring winning mentality to Chelsea

Chelsea look like they’re serious about signing a top striker this summer and someone like Julian Alvarez is at the top of their game.

While Alvarez is only 24, he has pretty much won everything already. He has a Champions League to his name, a World Cup, and two Premier League titles among his trophies so far.

Put simply, Alvarez would bring the sort of winning mentality to Chelsea that their young squad is perhaps lacking a bit right now.

Of course, City will want huge money to consider selling Alvarez. But if Chelsea can get it over the line, you get the feeling it would be a huge moment for the club.
