It’s a busy weekend (8-9 June) in and around Cambridge, with a host of events lined up to enjoy.
If you don’t have tickets to The Cambridge Club Festival at Childerley Orchard, there’s plenty to do. Here’s our guide to what’s on.
The Arbury Carnival
The popular annual event takes place on Saturday (8 June) from 11am-5pm on Arbury Town Park, Campkin Road, adjacent to the Arbury Community Centre,
The theme for 2024 is ‘We love the 80s and 90s’ and the event includes a procession, fairground rides, entertainment, local community group and trader stalls and a variety of food stalls.
The procession, which starts at midday, includes The Buckleton Belly Dance School, Castle School, Arbury Primary School, Grace Church, The Grove Primary School, The Red Hen Project and Cambridge African Network

Cambridge Town & Country Fair
Another annual event, the fair, which is free to enter, is held in the centre of Cambridge, on Parker’s Piece.
Exhibitors will include arts and crafts, fashion and beauty, food and drink, gifts and household accessories, and outdoor and garden items - as well as the unique and uncategorisable.
Those exhibiting include Amabilia Creations, Becky Alexander Print, Cambridge Artisan Cheese t/a The Cheese Vault, Cambridge Pentacle Magic Club, Cambscrafts, and Cambs Antique Centre.

Teversham Feast
The Teversham Feast, which ties in with the old pea harvest, will take place on the village green on Saturday (8 June) at 12-4pm, for the first time in 24 years.
Parking is at Teversham Primary School and the school choir will be opening the event. The Blue Skies big band are also playing, and there will be craft stalls, food stalls, games, fancy dress and races for children.

Botanic Garden Festival of Plants
Set in a beautiful landscape, the Festival of Plants, which takes place on Saturday (8 June), from 10am-5pm, celebrates the wonder of plants.
Enjoy a day out with something for everyone to enjoy, from gardeners to budding plant scientists, families to photographers - or anyone looking to spend an interesting day in the garden when it is brimming with summer colour.
Highlights include free garden tours, a family-friendly pop-up plant science marquee, and Dickie de Vere and the Dorchester Mavericks, a four-piece band that plays ‘a lively mix of vintage tunes, ranging from the 1920s-1950s’.

Joan Krakover Hall art sale
There will be a unique opportunity to view the work of little-known Cambridge-based artist Joan Krakover Hall on Saturday (8 June).
A sale will be held from 1pm-5pm, at the family home at 49 Owlstone Road, Cambridge. The free event is being organised by her daughters as a benefit for Medical Aid for Palestinians, a charity Joan strongly supported.

Shake Rattle and Roll
This free music session for families celebrates the environment and water and will take place at Meadows Community Centre, 299 Arbury Road, Cambridge.
Funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund, the event runs from 3-4pm. For more information, visit shake-rattle-roll.org.
Also, all you music and comedy fans, don’t forget that this weekend is also the Cambridge Club Festival at Childerley Orchard, near Cambridge.
The 2024 edition of the festival includes Chaka Khan, Jessie Ware, Earth, Wind and Fire Experience, and Gabrielle \- as well as comedians such as Tom Stade and Marcus Brigstocke.
