Bruno Guimaraes says Ederson is one of the best in the world

In a recent video shared on the JOE YouTube channel, Guimaraes and his Newcastle teammate, Joelinton, were tasked with building their ultimate five-a-side teams made up of past and present Brazil players.

When picking his goalkeeper option, Guimaraes went for Ederson and then said this about the City star.

He said: “Ederson is one of the best goalkeepers with his feet. Very good guy as well. But I chose this team to play football. I have to pick Ederson because he is one of the best with his feet.”

Back in the 2017 summer transfer window, the Citizens spent £35m to sign the Brazilian from Benfica.

During his time with Pep Guardiola’s side, Ederson has featured in 332 games across all competitions, keeping 155 clean sheets and winning many trophies along the way.

Ederson’s distribution makes him a special goalkeeper

In terms of his distribution, the 30-year-old ended his latest Premier League campaign with the highest percentage of long passes completed (46.3%) in the entire division.

As Guimaraes mentioned, the goalkeeper has a reputation for his impressive distribution and ability with the ball at his feet, as Guardiola said this about Ederson%2520is%2520the%2520best.) back in 2021.

He said: “With his feet, he is the best. The quality of the pass, I would say, is the best. Manuel [Neuer] and Victor [Valdes] were incredible too but the quality of the pass [from Ederson] is the best.”

With all of that in mind, it’s understandable why Guimaraes picked the City star as his goalkeeper option for his ultimate Brazil five-a-side team.
