This leaves England with just one more game to play – Iceland on Friday – before they fly off to Germany for the European Championship.

In the 63rd minute of the match, City winger Jack Grealish was substituted on for Eberechi Eze, making him the only City player to feature in the game and the only one who was included in the matchday squad.

With just over 20 minutes on the pitch, Grealish delivered the assist for Alexander-Arnold’s goal that doubled England’s lead with a looping cross to the back post the Liverpool full-back volleyed into the net.

Towards the end of the game and after the final whistle blew, lots of England supporters took to social media to share their thoughts on what they saw from the City star on this occasion.
